How to add a button or banner in your sidebar

For those of you who want to add a banner or a button for something (like a challenge site or a blog party button) I've written some quick instructions below:

Save the button/banner as an image somewhere on your hard drive where you know where it is.

Then in your blogspot admin:
Go to Layout, then Page Elements.
Click on ‘add a gadget’ in your sidebar area.
Scroll down the list in the little window that opens and find 'picture'.
Click that and then in the configure window choose the browse button and find the button you saved. Then above that, under 'Link' paste in the blog / website address.
And then choose Save.
That should be it.

Testing a YouTube link in my post

Instead of using the video icon, which is for video that you have saved to your harddrive try visiting youtube and grabbing the object embed code for the video you want to display. This code can be found to the right of the video area and is titled 'Embed'.

Once you have that code just paste it into your post 'compose' box where you would like the video to appear!

My first post - testing

This blog is specifically for testing. I have a lot of friends who use blogger as their blogging platform who want to have various things fixed, managed, changed on their blogs.
Since I am a web designer / developer I needed to have a test bed area for blogger. Also, I already have two blogs and yes, one more would be one too many :)
